Camila Morrone was soothed by Al Pacino over her fears about how to cry on screen.

The model, 26, who made headlines for dating Leonardo DiCaprio, 49, from 2017 to 2022, has just been unveiled as the new star of the second series of popular BBC One spy drama ‘The Night Manager’ alongside 43 year old Tom Hiddleston.

Details of her character are being kept secret, but the former Victoria’s Secret model – who grew up in Los Angeles with ‘Scarface’ actor Al Pacino, 84, as her stepfather – has opened up in the past about Al’s mentorship, which she said came when she landed a role as Bruce Willis’ daughter in the 2018 vigilante revenge thriller ‘Death Wish’.

She told ‘The Late Late Show’ in an interview that has resurfaced since news emerged of her ‘Night Manager’ role: “(I spent two hours at Al’s house and asked him) ‘What do I do? How do I cry?’

“(He said), ‘You're fine, just act. Just be yourself. If you cry, you cry, if you don’t, you don’t. Just act, react, and you’ll be fine. You’re 19 – no one cares.”

Camila was quoted by The Sun saying about how she never thought she would land the ‘Death Wish’ role: “At the time I didn’t think there’d be a chance I’d get it because it was such a big role and such a big studio movie.

“I kind of just went in to the audition thinking, ‘Whatever – I’m not even going to get too into my head about this’.”

Camila went on to land the title role in indie coming-of-age film ‘Mickey and the Bear’ a year after starring in ‘Death Wish’.

Al dated her mother Lucila Sola, 48, from 2009 to 2018, and they have remained close after their break-up.

The actor has been widely reported to have been responsible for introducing his ‘One Upon a Time in Hollywood’ co-star Leo to Camila before they started dating.

She was with ‘The Revenant’ actor from 2017 to 2022, before Leo moved on to a younger model.
