Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Is Also Obsessed with Wordle

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, remains an extremely relatable member of the British royal family. In a new profile in British Vogue, she revealed her daily routine includes playing Wordle on her iPad. Wordle, of course, is, the viral word game that was purchased by the New York Times for more than $1 million earlier this year.

"I do Wordle every day with my granddaughter," Camilla explained. "She’ll text me to say, ‘I’ve done it in three’, and I say, ‘Sorry, I’ve done it in two today.’ It’s very satisfactory when it tells you how brilliant you are," she said with a laugh.

Camilla is a grandmother to five, and step-grandmother to another five (Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor). Before she married Prince Charles in 2005, she was married to Andrew Parker Bowles, with whom she shared two children: Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes (née Parker Bowles).

Camilla has two granddaughters she could be discussing in this Worlde anecdote: Laura's daughter Eliza Lopes (born 2008), who was a bridesmaid at Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding in 2011, or Tom's daughter Lola Parker Bowles (born 2007).

“The nice thing about being a grandmother is that you can spoil them occasionally, give them more of the things that their parents forbid them to have,” Camilla told British Vogue. “One’s at a school very near my house, so when I am in Wiltshire and her parents are away, I can nip over and pick her up and take her home. The girls are beginning to get into clothes and make-up and, you know, it’s rather frightening when you see them, coming out with pierced ears and a lot of new make-up and funny-coloured hair and stuff."

In 1996, Camilla purchased Ray Mill House in Lacock, Wiltshire, just a 15-minute drive from Prince Charles's Highgrove House. In 2003, she moved to live with Charles at Clarence House, but she maintains her private home in Wiltshire to be close to family.

In addition to discussing Wordle and shopping with her granddaughters, Camilla also revealed she loves texting with her grandchildren. "It’s very nice getting a text," she said. "We learn from very young people and they learn from us, too. That’s the way it’s always been."
