Cara Dillon: Award-winning singer says she was 'shot in the face multiple times' with BB gun in Frome

An award-winning singer has said she was shot in the face by a BB gun "multiple times".

Cara Dillon said the pellets were fired from a passing vehicle in Frome, Somerset, on Wednesday evening.

The Northern Irish singer said she was okay but "really, really shocked".

In a post on X, she praised Avon and Somerset Police, who she said had been "great".

She also urged the public to "be aware".

The 48-year-old has previously won a number of awards for her singing, including the BBC Radio 2 folk awards.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers are investigating two reports of individuals being hit by a suspected BB gun pellet in Bath Street and Rodden Road in Frome.

"Thankfully, we do not believe anyone has been seriously injured or required any medical treatment and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
