The Cast Of ‘The Acolyte’ Is One With The Force
The Jedi masters, padawans, dropouts and adversaries that make up The Acolyte on Disney+ are kind of my favorite group of people right now. They're a fun new Star Wars ensemble who come from every corner of the talent galaxy. Here is everything you need to know about the characters, careers, and hyphens of the Acolyte cast. (Alien make-up does not help "is that what's-their-name from that thing we watched that one time" syndrome.)

Amandla Stenberg as Osha and Mae Aniseya
The Acolyte follows twin sisters separated by tragedy. Osha trained as a Jedi as a child following the tragedy, but quit as a teenager. Now a young adult, she works as a contractor fixing up spaceships. Mae, on the other hand, has been training in the Dark Side with a mysterious Master. She has been tasked with hunting and murdering four Jedi. Since Osha matches Mae's physical description, the murder investigation brings the girls together.
You know Stenberg from Bodies Bodies Bodies, The Hate U Give (for which they won an NAACP Image Award) and, though it was a long time ago, maybe most famously as Rue from The Hunger Games.

Lee Jung-jae as Master Sol
Sol is a kind, compassionate Jedi Master who trained Osha.
Lee was the star of Squid Game, the dystopian South Korean series that captivated audiences when it dropped on Netflix in 2021. He won a Critics Choice Television Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and an Emmy for his performance.

Charlie Barnett as Yord Fandar
Yord is a straight-laced Jedi Knight who, if this was a buddy cop comedy, would be the "by the book" guy. He's the class dork who reminds the teacher to collect the homework. He's Yord.
Barnett starred alongside Natasha Lyone in Russian Doll, which was co-created by The Acolyte creator Leslye Headland. You may also know him from Ordinary Joe, Tales of the City, and Private Romeo.

Dafne Keen as Jecki Lon
Jecki is Master Sol's Padawan learner. She's much more willing to improvise and bend the rules than Yord.
Keen broke out as Laura/X-23 in Logan alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. She also starred as Lyra Belacqua in the His Dark Materials series on HBO. A mutant, a Jedi, and an iconic literary heroine? Low-key what can't she do?

Manny Jacinto as Qimir
Qimir is like if Han Solo was into the Dark Side of the Force... and I kinda like it? He's a scrappy supplier who now works with Mae and her mysterious Master.
Jacinto is best known as Jason Mendoza from The Good Place. (Bortles! Portals!) He was also on Nine Perfect Strangers, in the underrated romantic comedy I Want You Back, and the underrated unhinged Chris Hemsworth movie Bad Times at the El Royale.

Carrie-Anne Moss as Master Indara
Indara is a Jedi Master who was stationed on Mae and Osha's planet when they were children. She is also the first on Mae's kill list.
If you didn't grow up with Moss as Trinity from The Matrix, I kind of don't know what to tell you. Have you seen her in Chocolat or Memento? She won an Independent Spirit Award for Memento. She was also in the MCU in the series Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Daredevil etc.

Jodie Turner-Smith as Mother Aniseya
She leads a coven of witches who use the Force (cool) and, as she shares a last name with Mae and Osha, may be their biological mother as well.
Besides being an iconic model, Turner-Smith has acted before on shows like True Blood, Sex Education (she played God, NBD), and The Last Ship as well as films including White Noise, After Yang, and the titular role in Queen & Slim with Daniel Kaluuya.

Dean-Charles Chapman as Torbin
Torbin is another one of the Jedi on Mae's list. He took a vow of silence to atone for whatever happened in their shared past, so... something's up.
Chapman played Tommen Baratheon on Game of Thrones, aka the King who yeeted himself to death. (Is that too harsh? It's GOT after all.) He also starred in 1917.
Joonas Suotamo as Kelnacca
He's a Jedi and a Wookiee. Need I say more?? OK, I will. Like Torbin, he appears to be atoning. Unlike Tobin, instead of silence he has chosen exile.
The actor and former basketball player took on the role of Chewbacca in the Star Wars sequels after Peter Mayhew died. so he's kind of the go-to Wookiee guy. He's going to be in the upcoming season of Wednesday.

Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra Rwoh
Vernestra is one of the only (maybe even the only) characters who already existed in the Star Wars universe before The Acolyte. She is a Jedi Master you can read about in The High Republic comics and novels.
You may know Henderson from Westworld, Inventing Anna, Single Drunk Female, Russian Doll as well, and films including Mistress America and Werewolves Within. She's also a stage actress and Drama Desk Award winner!
