Casualty has offered a first proper look at new character Tariq Hussein in the aftermath of last weekend's shocking death.

In tragic scenes that aired on Saturday's (February 17) iPlayer episode, Rash Masum's father Ashok passed away after escaping from home before Rida was able to take him out to meet Rash at the cricket.

The tragic scenes saw Rida desperately scramble to find him, before a patient was brought in fitting Ashok's description who had been hit by a bus. In emotional scenes, Rash then learnt the devastating news that his father had died, breaking down in front of his body.

In a first look at the aftermath, Rash will struggle to say his goodbyes to his father, though gets help as he's comforted by his cousin, Tariq.

However, Rash is unable to shake his anger at Rida when she turns up at the funeral — despite his wishes for her not to attend the ceremony.

Killing Eve star Manpreet Bachu was recently cast in the role of junior doctor Tariq alongside Sammy T Dobson, who will play fellow junior doctor Nicole Piper, while The Crown's Jamie Glover has also joined the show as Clinical Lead Patrick Onley.
