Casualty spoilers follow.

Say it ain't so! Casualty favourite Robyn Miller was killed off the show in tonight's (March 18) game-changing episode.

The devastating scenes mark the end of Amanda Henderson's decade-long stint on the show.

If you want the lowdown on what's going on with Marty and David then you can read our update here, but for now – but Robyn's own fate was sealed after last week's cliffhanger.

The episode picked up where this left off and Charlie was shocked when Robyn was finally brought to the ED in a critical condition.

As Max, Stevie and Dylan all fought to stabilise her in resus, the severity of her injuries left her colleagues at a loss as to what to do.

When she finally woke up, Robyn attempted to make amends with Charlie following their earlier run in, but he reassured her that they were okay and that there would be plenty of time to talk later.

Sadly, this was not the case. After a long wait to get Robyn to theatre, Holby City's Sacha Levy turned up and insisted he'd be able to save her; a promise it soon became clear he couldn't keep.

During surgery, Sacha struggled to stop a bleed, leaving the rest of the operating team on edge. For a moment, Robyn began to stablise and it looked like she might be okay, but when she later deteriorated, Sacha was forced to accept there was nothing more he could do, and she died on the table.

Charlie collapsed when he saw Robyn’s body and broke down again when he was faced with her heartbroken partner Paul and daughter Charlotte.

Jacob, meanwhile, was forced to face the brunt of Robyn's grief stricken colleagues, who reminded him that she wouldn't have been in the car, at that time, if it hadn't been for him.

Amanda finished filming with Casualty last year. She has played sweet-natured nurse Robyn since 2013 and was the longest-running female character on the show currently.

Robyn has been involved in a number of explosive storylines during her decade in the ED, from the dramatic birth of her daughter Charlotte, the death of her husband Glen, to her surrogacy story with Marty and Adi, and more recently, falling in love with her childhood friend Paul, who she was preparing to move away with.

Unsurprisingly, the ED aren't going to be getting over Robyn's death in a hurry.

Next week's episode picks up on the on the day of her funeral, which takes place off screen, where tensions are still rife among the team.

Jacob's guilt over his behaviour on Robyn's final day alive will be a particular focus, as he debates whether he should be going to the ceremony at all.

Although Jacob initially plans to attend, he has a change of heart when he overhears Paige implying that Paul wouldn't want him there.

After a heart to heart with Iain, Jacob finds a way to grieve for Robyn in private, before making a life-changing decision about his own future.

Also ahead next week, Dylan fights to bring an abuser to justice and could there be more to Faith’s dishonest patient than meets the eye? Check back here tomorrow (March 19) for a full spoiler roundup on next week's episode.

Casualty airs these scenes on Saturday, March 18 on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
