Celebratory parade for Singapore Paralympians this Saturday

Singapore’s Paralympians will get a celebratory parade to celebrate their achievements at the Rio Games on Saturday (Sept 24).

A convoy of cars carrying the athletes will set off from Sengkang Sports Centre at 9am and make a pit stop at the National Library on Victoria Street before making a final stop at VivoCity at around 2pm.

Swimmer Yip Pin Xiu, who won gold in the 50m and 100m backstroke events will be among the 13-strong contingent at the victory parade. At a stopover in Barcelona, the 24-year-old was awarded with 1 million KrisFlyer miles.

Most of the Paralympians will touch down in Singapore on Wednesday (Sept 21) on SQ67 at 5.35am.
