On this episode of In the Know: Beauty School, celebrity makeup artist and host, Kirin Bhatty (@kirinstagram), shares her favorite products made by BIPOC beauty brands. From foundation to lip kits, Bhatty’s go-to BIPOC-owned products create a complete look that’s super easy and super wearable! If you’re a conscious consumer looking to purchase with purpose, definitely check out these stellar BIPOC-owned brands.

Bhatty kicks things off with foundation, recommending the Tower 28 SunnyDays SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen Foundation. The foundation, which Bhatty actually helped develop herself, comes in “super-inclusive” shades. Using a brush and blender combo, Bhatty applies the foundation to the model’s face, starting in the center and blending outwards.

Once the foundation is applied, Bhatty adds some Orcé Cosmetics Setting Powder, before moving on to eyeshadow. Bhatty opts for the Juvia’s Place The Nubian Eyeshadow Palette, which consists of multiple “gorgeous tones.” Bhatty creates a wash on the model’s eyelid by taking a little bit of color and brushing it back and forth.

With the eyeshadow in place, it’s time to tackle the cheeks! Bhatty reaches for the Cheekbone Beauty Sustain Cheekbone Classics Palette and uses a brush to make the model’s cheeks “nice and blushy.” The host adds a “nice, soft contour” using a combination of the colors and blushing from the apples of the cheek up to the hairline.

Bhatty rounds out her routine with the CTZN Cosmetics Custom Nude Lip Kit, which is one of the makeup artist’s “most treasured” products. The lip kit features nudes for multiple skin tones, and as Bhatty applies it to model’s lips, it adds a perfectly subtle splash of color.
