Also competing over the coming weeks will be Emmerdale's Amy Walsh, RuPaul's Drag Race UK contestant Cheryl Hole, Strictly pro Dianne Buswell, The Wanted's Max George, singer Jamelia and Black Eyed Peas star apl.de.ap.

Rounding out the line-up are TV host Dave Benson Phillips, DJ Locksmith, Love Island's Luca Bish, actor Michael Praed, BBC 1Xtra's Remi Burgz, former model and singer Sam Fox, comedian Shazia Mirza, presenter Terry Christian, and singer Wynne Evans.

Returning for the new series will of course be judges John Torode and Greg Wallace who last year crowned Lisa Snowdon as the show's winner.

Torode recently opened up about his relationship with his co-star of almost two decades, after previously saying that he and Wallace had "never been friends".

Appearing on Desert Island Dishes, Torode explained that he and Wallace got on when they first met but that they were work colleagues and their relationship has stayed that way.

When asked if that meant the pair weren't friends, Torode clarified his comments, saying: "No, friends, but how do you define a friend? I think you define a friend of somebody if you're in a ditch one day and you're really in, you know, the cacker. You ring them up and you go, 'I need help' – that's a friend. Gregg would do that. So, he's a friend. Don’t get me wrong. But I don't go to the pub with him, we've both not been to each other's houses. We just don't do it. If he came to my house he wouldn't know what to do."

Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One.
