Celebs Go Dating star Mark-Francis Vandelli has opened up about his difficult childhood.

Last time on the reality series, Mark-Francis, who rose to fame starring in Made in Chelsea, went on a date where he promised the person he would go out with him again.

Speaking to dating expert Paul Carrick Brunson about the date, Mark-Francis said: "There might not be a great deal to say. I think I came across as pretty honest and fun but possibly not hugely engaged or invested."

Paul then quizzed Mark-Francis about why he promised to see his date again if he didn't feel confident, and Mark-Francis answered: "I may have led him to believe I might see him again."

He then explained that he fears disappointing others, which stems from his childhood experience of being left out and ignored.

"I think it comes from — look, most things come from childhood, and I was exactly as I am now aged about four or five," Mark-Francis said.

"I probably didn't fit into most, kind of, juvenile settings, so I know what it feels like to not feel like you're part of something, to be shunned, to be pushed to one side, to not be part of a clique — and it's not a nice feeling."

"I don't like being let down by people, so why would I let them down? I'd much rather not see them again than to make them feel like, 'Hey you're not right, you're not good enough for me' because it's not nice," he admitted.

"This is the most emotional, the most human I have seen Mark-Francis," Paul later said. "He's letting his guard down. This right here is a breakthrough, and I'm proud to see it."

Elsewhere during the episode, Vanessa Feltz had another disappointing date, Chloe Burrows kissed a boy and Adam Collard and Lottie Moss shared a few kisses and opened up about their feelings for each other.
