Chelsea and Arsenal in transfer battle for FC Nordsjaelland starlet Mario Dorgeles
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle are among the clubs watching FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Mario Dorgeles.
The 19-year-old, who is coached by Chelsea legend Michael Essien in Denmark, is considered the next top teenage star to emerge from the Nordsjaelland talent factory.
Brighton, Monaco, Lille, Lyon and Marseille are also in the summer race for the Ivory Coast Under-23 international, who Manchester United-bound sporting director Dan Ashworth also admires.
Essien named Dorgeles one of the top three talents at Nordsjaelland in 2023, alongside Ernest Nuamah, who has since joined Lyon, and Ibrahim Osman, who in February agreed a £16million summer move to Brighton amid interest from West Ham.
Dorgeles is expected to leave Nordsjaelland this summer. Since joining the club from Ivory Coast in 2022, he has proven to be a technically gifted left-footed defensive midfielder in his 43 senior appearances.
Moving to the Premier League would see him follow in the footsteps of Mohammed Kudus, who left Nordsjaelland for Ajax in 2020 before joining West Ham.
Brighton winger Simon Adingra came from Nordsjaelland in 2022, while Kamaldeen Sulemana, now at Southampton, also came through their famed academy.
Nordsjaelland are owned by the Right to Dream Academy, which offers pathways to Europe for Africa’s best talent. Scouts from top European clubs often visit to watch their best talent.
