Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Fans Can’t Get Over This Throwback Video of the Couple From the ‘Archives’
“I want you guys to do a show that is strictly outtakes," one commenter told the 'Fixer Upper' stars
Chip and Joanna Gaines are celebrating a decade of Fixer Upper with a look back at how it started.
A throwback video shared by Joanna and the couple’s Magnolia Network Sunday, June 9, features a series of outtakes in which the HGTV stars try to explain the show’s premise.
“We do it all,” says a young-looking Chip. “If there’s anything to do with the real estate market,” he continues before pausing, smiling and saying “Sorry.”
“We remodel,” he begins again before blanking. The video then cuts to Chip jokingly saying “We do it, we do do that” in a silly voice.
After more stumbles, the pair finally nail their lines.
“We do it all,” Chip says confidently. “We buy houses, we flip houses, we sell houses. We do remodels. We renovate. She does design.”
Joanna adds, “If it has anything to do with a house, we do it.”
“Found this one in the archives 🫣🤭 @chipgaines,” she captioned the post on Instagram.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the cute clips.
“Little Chip and Jo!!!! And what is so great about ya’ll is you are still just as real and genuine today as when you first started ❤️ Love it!” read one comment.
Another Instagram user commented on Chip’s funny voice, writing, “I’m picking up a little Adam Sandler Billy Madison/Happy Gilmore in there @chipgaines 😂”
Someone else requested more bloopers, commenting, “I want you guys to do a show that is strictly outtakes. It would be so fun to watch.”

Chip and Joanna Gaines on 'Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse'Chip, 49, and Joanna, 45, are also celebrating 10 years of Fixer Upper with a new spinoff of the long-running show, Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse.
The special limited series premiered June 2 and sees the couple renovating a mid-century modern lake house near Lake Waco in Texas.
The couple — who celebrated 20 years of marriage in May 2023 and share children Drake, 19, Ella, 17, Duke, 15, Emmie, 14, and Crew, 5 — showed off their sense of humor in a teaser for the new series.
In the promo, Joanna arrives at the lake house on demo day, but Chip is nowhere in sight.
“Chip? Hey, Chip? Chip, we gotta demo!” she calls, walking through the home. “I hope he’s not messing with me…”
Joanna then finds her husband lounging in an inner tube in the lake.
Chip, sporting overalls and work boots with a smudge of sunscreen on his nose, simply smiles and waves at his wife before floating off-screen.

Reflecting on 10 years of Fixer Upper in a statement, Chip and Joanna said, “When Fixer Upper premiered ten years ago, we couldn’t have imagined the journey we had ahead of us.”
“Though a lot has changed and evolved in the decade between then and now, our love for home is still at the heart of everything we do,” they continued. “We feel honored that we get to continue pouring into the stories of these homes across Waco.”
