Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage Reach Divorce Settlement, Waiving Spousal Support

The celebrity hairstylist and 'White Lotus' actor got married in April 2023 and filed for divorce 7 months later in November

Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage have reached a divorce settlement.

Per a nine-page proposed judgment and a declaration of default obtained by PEOPLE, the celebrity hairstylist, 40, and actor, 29, have asked the court to sign a written agreement waiving spousal support. The declaration of default was filed to the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County on Thursday, June 6.

After almost seven months of marriage, Appleton filed for divorce from Gage in November 2023. According to Los Angeles divorce documents obtained by PEOPLE, Appleton cited "irreconcilable differences" on Nov. 13 with a date of separation as Nov. 10. The documents also show that a postnuptial agreement is in place.

Reps for both did not return requests for comment.

The duo first sparked romance rumors in February 2023 when they posted about their trip to Mexico. They made their red carpet debut the following month at the Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood and TikTok Celebrate Vanities: A Night For Young Hollywood event, where they posed together in coordinating black and white looks.

During a March appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Appleton, who works with stars like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, confirmed his relationship with Gage.

"I'm very happy," he told the host. "Very much in love, and I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special."

On April 5, sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Gage and Appleton were engaged. After sparking marriage rumors at the Daily Front Row Fashion L.A. Awards shortly after, Gage confirmed on Instagram that he and Appleton had tied the knot.

The newlyweds posted with each other numerous times in the months after, but in early November 2023, Appleton filed for divorce from Gage after almost seven months of marriage.

During an interview with PEOPLE in March 2024, Gage shared that he's doing "really good" amid the divorce.

"It's been a year of learning, growing, changing — yeah, just constant change,” he said. “Life's always changing. Everything's great."

For Appleton's part, "Chris is happy to leave 2023 in 2023," a source tells PEOPLE. "He has a lot of new and interesting projects and he is excited for the future."
