The Selling Sunset star — who has appeared on legendary soaps like All My Children and The Young and the Restless — is set to guest star on Neighbours, Amazon Freevee and Fremantle announced on May 29.

The actress and reality star, 42, will star in the Daytime Emmy-nominated Australian series as a new character, Yasmine “Yas” Shields, a “glamorous and successful businesswoman in pursuit of an exciting new opportunity,” the streamers said.

She will arrive in Australia in July to begin filming for the long-running series, which follows the lives of the residents on Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, Australia — a fictional suburb of Melbourne.

In an official statement, Stause said she was “honored and excited to join such a beloved and iconic show!”

“Coming from the world of soaps in the U.S., it’s back to my first love in the entertainment industry,” she continued. “They pitched me an idea for a character, and I was immediately excited to figure out a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street here I come!”

Neighbours’ executive producer, Jason Herbison also shared an official statement welcoming Stause back her soap opera roots — and revealed that the showrunners made Yas just for the star.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chrishell to the cast of Neighbours,” Herbison said. “We created a character especially for her and we can’t wait for her to bring the storyline alive.”

Stause has not only starred in All My Children, and The Young and the Restless, but also another classic soap, Days of Our Lives, for which she received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2020. She has also starred in Netflix’s Staged Killer, as well as Lifetime's A Rose for Her Grave: The Randy Roth Story, You're Not Supposed to be Here.

Speaking in February 2023 about returning to her acting roots with A Rose for Her Grave, Stause said it was a challenging but rewarding experience.

"I feel like it is hard if you're bopping back and forth between super happy and making jokes and jovial, and then constantly having to jump back into this super intense space," she told PEOPLE of working on the Lifetime movie.

“And so, for me, just to make it easier on myself, I would go to my room a lot and just, because normally, of course, I'm a very social person, very happy,” she added. “But it does make it harder on just your brain and body to jump in and out, back and forth."

Stause also said she had to get back into the swing of using her acting chops, which felt like riding "a bicycle” — albeit “a little rusty.”

"Of course, there are certain things that it takes just a little bit of reminding your brain about,” the real estate agent told PEOPLE. “As far as just memorizing the lines, I felt a little rusty at first. I worked in soaps for 15 years, so I used to be able to almost have a photographic memory. That's not the case anymore. It goes away when you stop using it."
