Christie Brinkley just shared a revealing Instagram post — and her daughter Alexa Ray Joel had the best response!

While backstage at Today on May 28, Brinkley, who appeared on the show to discuss her recent skin cancer diagnosis and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 60th anniversary cover, seemingly required some last minute wardrobe touch-ups.

And the 70-year-old supermodel wasn’t afraid to let her fans behind the scenes, sharing some slightly risqué pictures of her “crew” stitching up her Today dress on Instagram.

In the shots, the model and author smiled widely while lifting the garment up mid-stitch to reveal her leg — plus a bit of hip.

She gave a bit more context in the caption, writing, “My crew keeps me in stitches … literally ! Thank you for the last minute touch ups @mitchbarry I knew you could wield a brush , butt …lol who knew you’re so talented with a needle and thread!?!”

Even with the extra context, however, several commenters were confused by the post — including the star’s eldest child, Alexa, whom she shares with ex-husband Billy Joel.

“Mom… what’s happening here?” the singer-songwriter, 38, commented, along with a laughing cat emoji.

The leggy shot may have been partially inspired by Brinkley’s interaction with Peloton instructor and Today contributor Ally Love — of whom the model revealed she is a longtime fan.

Alongside a video of herself and the National Lampoon's Vacation actress showing off their toned legs at the Today studio, Love shared that backstage, the model “showed off her strong @onepeloton legs, and let me know she had taken my entire catalogue of classes!!”

Both Brinkley and the fitness instructor also posted more pics of themselves lifting their dresses to their thighs on their respective Instagram Stories. With hers, Brinkley wrote, “Thighs by [Ally Love].”

In her Stories post, Love said that Brinkley is “amazing,” and the star reciprocated the praise, writing, “I just love her good energy!”

Also during her Today appearance, Brinkley discussed recently turning 70 — something she previously opened up to PEOPLE about ahead of her milestone birthday in February.

The supermodel told PEOPLE she was approaching the moment “with a lot of reverence and emotion,” noting, “I think 70 is very similar to 50, in that it's a time when you look both back and forward.”

“Over the last five years, I thought, ‘I’m going to do a big blowout,’” she said of the special day, adding, “I haven’t really had a second to put a plan in place. And you know what? That’s absolutely fine with me.”

The model ended up spending her 70th in Turks and Caicos with her two other children: Jack Brinkley-Cook, 28 (from her marriage to Richard Taubman; Jack was later adopted by Peter Cook) and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, 25 (from her marriage to Cook).
