Climate Protesters Gather Outside Biden's Donor Event in Manhattan
Climate protesters gathered on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue on Wednesday, May 10, near where President Biden was attending a campaign fundraiser event, to demand an end to fossil fuel projects.
During his New York visit, Biden was planning to attend a 2024 campaign fundraiser event at former Blackstone executive Tony James’s house on Fifth Avenue, NBC News reported.
Multiple climate action groups, including the New York Communities for Change and Climate Defiance, attended the protests, according to the organizations’ statements. Actor Jane Fonda and lawyer Steven Donziger also joined the demonstrations, video shows.
