Coal scam: CBI special court convicts Rathi Steel and Power Ltd. Promoters

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): A CBI special court on Tuesday convicted a private company, Rathi Steel and Power Limited, it's three promoters and three top officials in the Kesla North coal allocation scam case. RSPL and its three officials-- MD Pradeep Rathi, CEO Udit Rathi and AGM Kushal Aggarwal have been held guilty of charges of cheating and conspiracy in a coal scam case Court will hear the arguments on sentencing of the four convicts in the case at 2 pm. Case pertains to alleged irregularities in allocation of Kesla North coal block in Chhattisgarh to RSPL. The CBI has alleged that RSPL and its officials had "misrepresented" facts before the 36th screening committee regarding acquisition of 250 acres of land to acquire the coal block. CBI had only chargesheeted RSPL and Udit Rathi as accused in the case for the alleged offences of criminal conspiracy and cheating. However, after considering the charge sheet, the court also summoned the other two, Pradeep Rathi and Kushal Aggarwal, as accused in the case. (ANI)
