COE prices close higher across the board

Certificate of entitlement (COE) prices ended higher across all categories in the bidding exercise on Wednesday.

The premiums for Category B, or larger cars above 1,600cc, saw the biggest rise from $65,001 to $72,990.

Those for Category A, or cars up to 1,600cc, rose from $62,890 to $65,710.

Premiums for the Open category also went up significantly from $65,002 to $72,810. This was an expected increase coming after the announcement of the three-month COE quota from August to October which left fewer COEs up for grabs in the category.

However, despite the supply for commercial vehicles shrinking by 33 per cent starting this month, COEs in the goods vehicles and buses category only rose slightly to $52,390 from $52,010.

COE premiums for motorcycles increased to $4,354 from $4,252.
