Marvel's Phase 6 is still a little while away, but we have reason to get excited now as we have the cast for The Fantastic Four.

In June 2023, Marvel shuffled its upcoming release calendar as a result of the ongoing writers' strike in the US, which has delayed the start of production on movies such as Thunderbolts and Blade, both of which were expected in Phase 5.

The Fantastic Four was set to be the start of Phase 6 and it looks like that's the case again, but we know we're still getting two Avengers movies to end Phase 6 and the entire Multiverse Saga that Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige announced at Comic-Con 2022.

So as we begin the long wait for it to start, here's everything you need to know about Phase 6.

Marvel Phase 6 release dates: What is the current Phase 6 timeline?

As mentioned above, there's been some shifting of the release dates and Deadpool & Wolverine has moved up to July 2024, which now makes it part of Phase 5.

At Comic-Con 2022, Feige did reveal a roadmap that included release windows for TV shows, but they are definitely out of date now, so we're sticking to the confirmed release dates that we know.

It means that as it stands in February 2024, the Phase 6 timeline is quite brief:

July 25, 2025The Fantastic Four
May 1, 2026Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
May 7, 2027 – Avengers: Secret Wars

However, we are assuming that Thunderbolts, which has taken The Fantastic Four's release date of May 2, 2025, is back in Phase 5 as originally planned.

There will be TV shows in Phase 6, but right now, we don't know what they'll be or have any indication of when they'll be released on Disney+.

We do know though that Marvel has three 2026 release dates set for Untitled Marvel movies on February 13, July 24 and November 6. Again, we have no idea what those movies could be, but it suggests we can expect six movies in Phase 6.

On the movies side, we had thought that Phase 6 would kick off with Deadpool 3, but now that the threequel has moved to May 2024, it means that The Fantastic Four will start the movies side of the climactic phase of the Multiverse Saga.

We know precious little about the long-awaited movie, except that it won't be an origin story. As it won't be an origin story, could we see the Fantastic Four pop up in another project before their solo movie?

At least we have the cast now: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch.

But even the excitement for The Fantastic Four pales in comparison to the epic Avengers double-bill that was announced at Comic-Con – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Next to nothing is known about either movie, other than the titles. Even that might not be accurate now as Marvel dropped Jonathan Majors following a trial conviction for assault and harassment, and we don't know if Kang will be recast yet.

Secret Wars is the huge comic book crossover event that many fans expected Phase 4 to lay the groundwork for. If it follows the comics, it could well act as a soft reboot for the entire MCU, but we'll have to wait and see.

As for the other movies in Phase 6, it's possible that we'll see the long-awaited X-Men movie which Feige spoke about at Comic-Con 2019.

We know that Spider-Man 4 and Shang-Chi 2 are in development, so they could fill either gap too. There's also the news that Armor Wars is shifting from a TV series to a movie, meaning it now too could take up one of those spots.

Right now, we don't know any of the TV shows that will be arriving on Disney+ during Phase 6, so your guess is as good as ours.

There are various TV shows in development, including a Wakanda series said to explore the origin story of Okoye (Danai Gurira) and a Nova series.

Either of these could arrive in Phase 6, and we could also see second seasons of any of the shows that have already debuted.

You can catch up on almost of the MCU to date on Disney+.
