The Conners' John Goodman says show is "coming to an end"
The Conners star John Goodman has revealed that he thinks the show, which is a spin-off of the canceled Roseanne series, may be coming to an end sometime soon.
The Conners has run for five seasons so far and was recently renewed for a sixth season.
However, in a new interview with France 24 English, Goodman, who stars as the family patriarch Dan Conner, said that he feels the show may be winding down.

"I think we may be coming to an end on it, I’m not sure. It’s lasted longer than I thought we would. It was just supposed to be like an eight-show-and-out thing at one point and they picked us up again and they keep picking us up," Goodman said.
Goodman isn't the only The Conners creative who has spoken about the show's potential end. Earlier this year, just before a sixth season was confirmed, executive producer Bruce Helford revealed that he thought the show could end after one more season.
"Sara Gilbert expressed to the network that we don't want to go out without knowing that we are going out with a series finale so we can build to the right ending — and at this point in time, we feel that [next season] is possibly going to be the last season of The Conners," Helford said.

"I would not [say that] definitively because the numbers were so good this season, and we've all had a really great time... but it's definitely a possibility."
Fans have good reason to look forward to that sixth season, though. Stranger Things actor Sean Astin has joined the cast as a new love interest for Becky (Lecy Goranson).
The Conners airs on ABC in the US. Because of the ongoing WGA strike, there is no telling yet whether the sixth season will air in the autumn as originally planned, or pivot to a later date.
