Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street reintroduces Corey Brent's scheming father Stefan next week.

Former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star Paul Opacic has reprised his role as Stefan, who'll be causing trouble for Abi and Kevin Webster in a new storyline.

The plot begins when Bethany Platt lands herself a new job with a magazine.

Bethany is pleased to finally have regular journalism work again, but she's upset when her first assignment is to write an article defending Corey.

Aware that this would spark a backlash on the Street, Bethany approaches Abi to let her know. Abi is sickened by this latest attempt to create positive publicity for her son's killer.

Abi investigates the situation and discovers that Stefan owns the magazine. It turns out that he's also a board director of the production company that made the recent documentary about Corey.

With the evidence mounting up, Abi decides that Stefan must have created the recent deep fake videos using her image. She figures out that Stefan may have been taking revenge after she spoke out publicly against the documentary.

Abi reports her suspicions to the police and DS Swain follows up on the theory by bringing Stefan in for questioning.

Bethany informs Abi that she's willing to quit her job in a show of support, but she points out that it could be useful to have someone on the inside to spy on Stefan.

Kevin takes Bethany up on the suggestion, asking her to lend him her security pass for Stefan's offices. Bethany reluctantly hands it over.

Later in the week, Kevin approaches Max Turner for help after stealing Stefan's mobile phone from the office. He asks if Max can hack into the device.

Bethany panics when she finds out that Max has the phone. She urges Kevin not to keep involving her family in his battle against Stefan.

Scared of Kevin gathering evidence against him, Stefan reminds him that the incriminating video footage from the office CCTV could land him in jail. Will Kevin be scared off from reporting Stefan?
