Coronation Street casts Antony Cotton's mum Enid Dunn in another role

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Antony Cotton's mum Enid Dunn is once again set to star in Coronation Street, only this time in a different role.

Dunn first appeared in the soap in 2002 as Joan Lawson, the aunt of Dennis Stringer (Charles Dale), attending his funeral. She returned to the cobbles in 2006 where she was credited as 'Old Crone', and then once again as a woman that killer John Stape encountered in a lift. In 2014, she returned once again as Maureen Rothwell, a woman who won a substantial prize playing bingo.

Her son followed in her footsteps in 2003, starring in Corrie as barman and factory worker Sean Tully.

Now, Dunn is set to return to Weatherfield as a housekeeper who is involved in the death of Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo).

In upcoming scenes, it seems like Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) may have struck again as Rufus' body is discovered in his swimming pool.

Rufus has blackmailed Stephen by demanding 25% of the profits from the factory's Nippersnapper deal, in exchange for keeping quiet about Stephen drugging Carla Barlow (Alison King).

Scenes airing next week will see Rufus pressure Stephen into sharing 50% of the profits instead, with Stephen worried about how the business will be able to afford it.

Further pressure is put on Stephen when Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) reveals he is leaving the business as Rufus has offered him a better job in London.

Coincidentally, Rufus is then found dead at his house, with Michael and his dad Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) arriving at the property to check on the businessman when he hasn't been answering his phone, only to find it surrounded by police.

Dunn will play the role of a housekeeper who fills the pair in on what happened to Rufus and that she found his body in the swimming pool.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
