Coronation Street confirms who killed Rufus in flashback scene

Coronation Street has confirmed in flashback scenes that Stephen Reid killed business rival Rufus.
The shocking revelation unfolded during Friday's (April 14) hour when Michael Bailey returned to Stephen to ask for his job back at Underworld since Rufus had no-showed their meeting.
While Stephen brutally rejected Michael, both Elaine Jones and new Head of Design, Nina Lucas, were stunned to see this cunning and ruthless side to the serial killer for the first time.
Now out of a job, Ronnie offered to go with Michael over to Rufus's house to see if they could straighten things out, but they arrived to find police on the scene.
They found out from Rufus's housekeeper that she'd found him dead in the swimming pool. This version of events was just what Stephen wanted to hear when Ronnie tried to win him over by insisting Michael had rejected Rufus's job offer in a meeting shortly before his death.
Stephen knew this was a lie, yet was more than willing to go along with the story as Craig turned up to interview Michael, since he was supposedly the last person to see Rufus alive.
Michael was forced to admit under questioning that the meeting never occurred — as Rufus never bothered to turn up.
Stephen continued his manipulations by suddenly changing course and inviting Michael to return to Underworld as a junior manager.
During their conversation, Stephen drifted back to the night before as flashback scenes showed he was responsible for Rufus's death.
Stephen had turned up with his signature weapon, a vile of LSD, to spike Rufus's drink, before shoving him into the pool and holding his head underwater until his rival drowned.
Will Stephen get away with his third murder on the cobbles?
