Coronation Street confirms tragic new Summer storyline
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street teenager Summer Spellman will suffer a miscarriage in upsetting scenes next week.
Summer recently discovered that she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend Aaron Sandford. Although the young couple don't feel ready to be parents, they hatched a plan to hand the child over to show newcomers Mike and Esther in exchange for money.
In next week's episodes, Summer finds Aaron spending some quality time with his troubled dad Eric at the flat.
Eric seems ready to accept his issues when he admits that he's an alcoholic but vows to stay off the booze from now on.

Eric is pleased that Summer and Aaron have raised the money to pay for his rehab. The cash came from Mike and Esther, but when Eric pushes for details, Summer and Aaron lie that they borrowed the money from Billy Mayhew.
The intense situation leaves Summer worried about the inevitability of Billy finding out the truth about the baby. She tells Aaron that their only solution is to move away until after she has given birth.
When Summer and Aaron inform Mike and Esther about their plans to leave town, Esther suggests that Summer should move in with them instead.
Summer decides that it's a good idea and prepares for the move.

Later, there are two upsetting developments for Summer and Aaron.
Jacob Hay has to break the news to his friends that Eric has been drinking again.
Summer then starts experiencing agonising pain and she's later informed that she has suffered a miscarriage.

Back on the cobbles later, Summer and Aaron find Eric drunk with blood trickling down his face. Eric becomes aggressive with his son once again, but Aaron refuses to cut ties with his dad and takes him to A&E to get checked out.
Amid the chaos, Summer receives a text from Esther, who gushes over how excited she is over Summer moving in.
Later in the week, Summer and Aaron still haven't broken the sad news about the baby to Mike and Esther. They feel terrible as the couple reveal that the spare room has been redecorated especially for Summer.
Esther places her hand on Summer's tummy in a conversation about the pregnancy, but it becomes too much for Summer and she rushes out. Will the truth finally be revealed, or will Mike and Esther remain in the dark?
