Coronation Street danger for Evelyn as big new storyline begins

Coronation Street has shared a first look at Evelyn Plummer's next big storyline.
Evelyn makes a potentially dangerous enemy next week as she confronts a man for mistreating his dog.
The argument takes place outside the local café and Roy Cropper rushes to support Evelyn when things turn nasty.
Dog owner Terry then turns on Roy instead, showing what he's capable of as the situation gets out of hand.

Fortunately, Evelyn's daughter Cassie isn't too far away and she steps in to defend her mum and Roy.
When Roy then films footage of Terry and the dog on Evelyn's phone, Tyrone Dobbs decides that it's time to report the villain to the police.
The next day, Evelyn confides in Roy about how she had a sleepless night because she was worried about the dog.
Before long, Terry reappears as he's spotted pulling up outside the charity shop. Evelyn is disgusted to see him head off, carelessly leaving his dog alone in the van.

When Evelyn hears the upset animal whimpering in the back of the van, she decides that it's time to stage a dognap.
Roy can't believe his eyes when Evelyn returns with the dog in tow. Could this backfire on her?
Coronation Street's producer Iain MacLeod recently teased this storyline by telling Digital Spy and other media: "It ends up in quite serious territory. But to start with, Evelyn makes herself a bit of an enemy in the shape of a fella that she sees mistreating his dog. It starts with that relatively small moment, where they cross paths at the precinct and some cross words are exchanged.
"It goes from there to a situation that ends up with court appearances, trips to the hospital and really quite serious danger for both Evelyn and Cassie."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
