Coronation Street first look at Todd Grimshaw's new love interest

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street will introduce Todd Grimshaw's new love interest in the show's Christmas week.

Todd takes a shine to Paul Foreman's new assistant Moses in scenes airing over the festive season.

Michael Fatogun has been cast in the role of Moses, who'll appear in episodes over Christmas and into January.

Later this month, Paul explains to his husband Billy Mayhew and sister Gemma Winter-Brown that he's suffering from back pain.

Paul, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) earlier this year, is disappointed when Moses arrives in place of his usual PA.

Fortunately, Paul's doubts quickly disappear when Moses massages his back and manages to get rid of the pain.

Later in the week, Moses pays another visit to Paul and suggests a shopping trip so that he can get some fresh air.

When Moses and Paul return from their trip, Todd spots Moses struggling to get the key in the door.

Clearly smitten with Moses, Todd rushes over to help.

Coronation Street's producer Iain MacLeod previously teased this storyline in late October.

MacLeod told Digital Spy and other press: "There's a dalliance for Todd, but it arrives at quite a poor time. And the person with whom he has the connection is probably not ideal in terms of the situation that Todd meets them in.

"At this time, it's only a little test drive of his relationship with this person. It's not very long running, but we thought that if we like what we see, it might go on to be long-running later on."

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, December 27 and Friday, December 29 at 8pm on ITV1.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
