Coronation Street star Will Mellor breaks silence on Harvey Gaskell return

Coronation Street star Will Mellor has broken his silence on his upcoming return as Harvey Gaskell.
It was announced in October that the villain would be returning to the cobbled streets, with the character last seen in prison following the accidental murder of Natasha Blakeman.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Mellor revealed his reasons for returning to the soap.

“I love playing Harvey, even though he’s obviously a nasty person,” he said. “He’s a narcissistic gangster and I don’t get to play those characters a lot.
“People loved him, and the producers said, ‘We’ve got storylines for him, do you want to come back?’ I was like, ‘100%!’ Plus it’s my mum’s favourite show and pleasing your mum is always a good reason to do something.”
What we do know about Harvey’s next storyline is that it will involve half-brother Damon Hay, who is set to wreak havoc on Sarah and Adam Barlow. Producer Iain MacLeod also previewed the storylines, teasing some interesting dynamics on the horizon.
“[Adam] will pay a little visit to Damon's half-brother Harvey, because he's no fan of Damon's either,” revealed MacLeod. “They might form an unholy alliance. They have a shared problem in the form of Damon and think they can help each other in that regard.
“It's got fantastic actors in it, as all stories do. The storyline is packed full of twists, turns and excitement. Dare I say it in this day and age, but it's quite sexy as well. I think it's got lots of intensity and passion and a whirlwind romance with Damon and Sarah.”
