Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher calls for Nina to fight for Asha

Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher has called for Nina Lucas to fight for girlfriend Asha Alahan.
Scenes set to air next week will see Nina's worst fears realised as Asha's close friend Isla admits she has a crush on Asha.
However, Isla shares her respect for Asha's relationship with Nina, and tells her that it may be a good idea that she should change mentors from Isla to someone else. Asha later tells Nina about what happened.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Mollie noted: "From the start, Asha's always tried a bit harder than Nina, I’d say!
"For the first time we've seen how much Nina cares. So I think it would be nice for Nina to actually fight and show how she actually feels for her.
"We need those obstacles to get past and I think this is the perfect one. Nina needs to fight for Asha – go girl!" she added.
Mollie also teased what to expect going forward, admitting there is a "rocky road ahead" for the couple.

"Nina holds things in then doesn’t know how to deal with the emotion coming out," she explained. "When I read what's coming up it was unexpected. It causes friction between them.
"And I'm just starting to film a big storyline involving a lot of the cast. Nina is part of that…," she further teased.
Meanwhile, Asha actress Tanisha Gorey previously admitted she doesn’t want to see her character in a cheating storyline.
"Not everyone needs to cheat in a relationship," she told What To Watch. "But it’s a soap, we need the drama, we need something. But cheating should not be on the cards. Let’s hope that’s not the case."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
