Coronation Street star Sally Carman shares new project away from the show
Coronation Street star Sally Carman has revealed a new project away from the soap.
The Abi Webster actress revealed on Instagram that she will be directing a short play for the JB Shorts festival in Manchester next month.
Her project, which is called What's Your Poison, has been written by Lindsay Williams, who has herself worked on Corrie as a story producer, as well as on Waterloo Road, EastEnders and Emmerdale.

Sharing the news, Sally wrote: "Very happy to be directing @lindsaywilliams8900 piece for the mighty @jbshortsplays this October at @53two. It runs from the 3rd to the 14th – be good to see you".
The actress has since received a load of support in the comments, with fellow Corrie star Georgia Taylor (Toyah Habeeb) writing: "Love this! I’ll definitely be there", while Sally's husband Joe Duttine shared clapping hands emojis.
Back in July, Sally and Joe (who plays Tim Metcalfe on the soap) marked their one-year anniversary of marriage on Instagram.

Sharing a drawing of himself and his wife, Joe said: "One year, happy anniversary Mrs."
The pair married in 2022, before heading on a romantic honeymoon to Italy. In June this year, the couple also reached a big relationship milestone as they celebrated five years together, with Sally sharing a post on Instagram with five yellow heart emojis.
Sally previously joked about being unable to work with her husband, saying in 2021: "I hate working with [Joe]. He's a rotten man to work with because he makes me laugh to the point where I get that sweaty feeling because I can't get a grip."
"It's painful. I'll have gritted teeth and go, 'Stop it!', and he'll say, 'I'm not doing anything'. If I never have a scene with him again I'll be all right with that," she added.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
