In scenes that are due to air next week, Amy will spot Aaron kissing a girl in Victoria Garden, being left upset that Aaron can continue his life without the threat of consequences.

After relaying the information to Summer, she deduces that the girl in question was Aaron's ex-girlfriend, Mia.

Reasoning that she doesn't want Mia to go through the same trauma that she experienced, Amy sends her a text outlining Aaron's actions and informing her that he's dangerous.

Mia later shows this text to Aaron, but just how will he react to being called out for his crimes?

Actor James Craven recently spoke about the dark storyline, and believed that it was important for the arc to touch on numerous societal issues.

"Not only is it opening up conversations about consent, about what is right and wrong, but it is also important to reassure people if they have been through something like this that they shouldn't be made to feel like it's okay," he said.

"If anyone of any gender has experienced sexual abuse or something of this nature, it's important to let them know that there is stuff that they can do about it. It's never acceptable for something like this to happen – it's so great to get people talking about it because the fact that they are shows how relevant it is and how important it is,."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
