Coronation Street's Cait Fitton promises long Lauren boyfriend storyline
Coronation Street's Cait Fitton has teased that Lauren Bolton's mystery boyfriend storyline will be quite the long-runner.
As viewers will know, the character has been telling her friends that she has a rich boyfriend. While they doubted her, viewers know that he is real, we just don't know who he is.
Speaking to The Sun at The TV Choice Awards, the actress teased that the storyline might end up lasting for pretty much all of this year.
"There's a lot happening with [Lauren]," Fitton said. "I love playing her. Big things are coming for Lauren in 2024.

"With the whole boyfriend thing, I can't say too much but it is going to unfold over the next year potentially. It's a heavy storyline but Coronation Street always smash the hard-hitting stuff, so I'm really excited."
Fitton added that Lauren has issues with "stability" due to her parents being missing from her life, and she will "cling onto anything to be loved", which could lead her into trouble.
"There's a journey she needs to go on, she's not where I want her to be yet but there's time," the actress added.

"Because she's such a complex character to play, a lot of people aren't going to like her. But she's a young girl, she makes mistakes and I think that's what life is all about — making mistakes and learning from them
"Fingers crossed by the end point, she redeems herself on the street and have that stability going forward."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
