Coronation Street's Dylan doubles down on plans for guilty plea

Coronation Street saw Dylan Wilson doubling down on his guilty plea plan tonight (March 11).

In the soap's latest hour-long episode, Sean Tully's tortured son began by insisting he wanted nothing more to do with bully Mason Radcliffe, following the news that victim Liam Connor was planning to take his own life.

Meanwhile, Gary Windass and Maria Connor were informed by the police that Mason had been charged for "threatening with a bladed article" and that he stands a strong chance of a custodial sentence.

Despite Mason's fingerprints being found on the weapon, Dee-Dee Bailey later told Sean how Dylan's guilty plea could make all the difference.

Back at Eileen Grimshaw's place, the teenager told his worried dad: "Look, I hope this proves to the police that Mason's a proper headcase and he gets put away for it, but there's no decision for the magistrates to make where I'm concerned..."

Sean was quick to dismiss Dylan's altruism, but he angrily fired back with some home truths.

"No, you need to listen to me!" Dylan shouted. "Mason bullied Liam because that's what he does, maybe he doesn't know any different, but I do. I knew I were doing wrong!"

"You can't throw away your future because you were led astray by some total scumbag. You were scared yourself. You were just trying to survive!" explained Sean, but Dylan went on to admit it was all to do with the thirst for popularity at school.

"My mate could've died because of it!" he said, as an empathetic Eileen highlighted how hard it must be for him to face up to it.

"It's true," added Dylan. "I know better than anyone how it feels, and that's why I've got to plead guilty."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
