Coronation Street's Hope Stape caught out over nasty behaviour

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Hope Stape is set to be caught out over her nasty behaviour in new scenes on Coronation Street.

Recent scenes saw Stu's granddaughter Eliza move schools after being bullied at her old one – though Hope has been left unimpressed as Eliza has been forming a bond with Sam Blakeman.

Hope had convinced Eliza to hire a stretch limo with a disco for her upcoming party, while also suggesting a glitter artist and manicurist.

Eliza wasn't keen on the idea, though Hope suggested that she would need to take advice if she wanted to become popular – unaware that Hope really has sabotage on her mind.

In new scenes airing next week, Hope and Sam are reminded by Eliza of her birthday party, while her grandfather convinces Liam and Jake to come to the party.

When Stu heads off, Hope tells the boys that they won't enjoy the party at all, and Roy wonders why Hope is being so mean.

Will he be able to talk her round and put an end to her bad behaviour towards Eliza?

Earlier this year, Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod teased some lighter storylines for Hope after a troubling period for the character.

"She's certainly not going to continue going down such a troubled path, in the short to medium to long-term," he said.

"We thought: Actually, we've done some very dark and twisted things with that character, and okay that'll still be part of her, but for the next 12 months we're going to do normal pre-teen stuff."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
