Coronation Street's Max to be drawn back into Abi's deep fake story

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Max Turner becomes an unlikely supporter for Kevin and Abi Webster in Monday's episode (June 10).

The troublesome teenager is surprised when Kevin approaches him for help over Abi's ongoing deep fake crisis.

Abi was left devastated last month as pornographic videos using her image were posted online.

She soon realised that the clips were all deep fakes, but struggled to figure out who'd have the tech knowledge to cruelly target her like this.

In Monday's episode, Abi remains upset as she believes that her twins' adoptive mum is blocking their latest scheduled visit because of the deep fake videos.

Refusing to abandon the investigation, Abi tells Kevin that they need to find a computer expert who can trace the troll's real IP address. The couple have previously been told that the culprit is using a VPN to disguise their location.

Kevin decides to approach Max, which is a humbling moment after he previously accused the teen of being responsible for the deep fakes.

Will Max be able to help Abi catch her tormentor?

Sally Carman, who plays Abi, recently spoke about how her character is being affected by the ongoing ordeal.

She said: "It's really rocked her. She thought that she was just getting back on the straight and narrow, finally everything had settled down, she was coming to terms with Seb's death and trying to look to the future. But then this comes along and just shakes the ground."

Asked whether Abi's darker side could return, Sally replied: "I think there will be some moments where she goes into auto pilot and old behaviours resurface. We'll have to see what happens in regards to her going right back.

"In these moments where she feels she's going to lose everything, that's where she comes out fighting, because they're such big things for her to face losing now that anyone would react in a way that isn't maybe an obvious reaction for them.

"But for someone that's already very reactionary, then yes she's definitely going to pull on some old behaviours."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
