Coronation Street's Paul Foreman and Billy Mayhew confirm wedding plans

Coronation Street's Paul Foreman and Billy Mayhew will start planning their wedding next week, marking the ITV soap's first gay marriage storyline.
As viewers will know, Paul recently proposed to Billy, though it was a bittersweet occasion because Paul also asked his future husband to help him end his life when the time comes as his Motor Neurone Disease (MND) continues to develop.
In upcoming scenes, Paul visits Shelly and expresses frustrations about his new stairlift, wheelchair and Billy's constant fussing over him.

After Shelly reminds Paul to be grateful for his fiancé's support, he returns home and suggests to Billy that they go out for the day to enjoy themselves while they still can.
The couple head to the lake to spend a romantic afternoon together, and Billy finds it hard to refuse when Paul suggests they go skinny dipping.
When the day comes to an end, Paul tells Billy that it's time to book their wedding and suggests having it at the Bistro.

Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy, previously said he feels "honoured" to be a part of the soap's first gay wedding.
"I'm thrilled," he continued. "I mean, obviously there's been long running gay characters in the show, prior to Billy with Todd and Sean and also Sophie. And I'm thrilled that we are going to finally have a wedding.
"Billy has been on the other side of the altar for so many, it seems fitting for him to have the first one, and with him being a religious man it is significant in that way too."
Coronation Street has been working on Paul's storyline with support from the MND Association, which focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for people affected by motor neurone disease.
