Coronation Street's Paul Foreman suffers a nasty accident after return to Weatherfield

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Paul Foreman is set to suffer a nasty accident upon his return to Weatherfield.

Paul was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a condition for which there is currently no cure, and has been processing it since, only recently sharing the news with his loved ones.

In new scenes set to air on the soap, Paul returns home with Billy from holiday, and tries his best to carry on as normal, even while his symptoms get worse.

Speaking recently about the storyline, Bernie actress Jane Hazlegrove said of how Paul's diagnosis changes the family dynamics: "They are struggling, but closing ranks. The Winter-Brown scrum, to use a rugby metaphor, is knuckling down.

"But sadly families like these do fall apart at times because everyone is busy asking themselves what they can do for the best, and end up forgetting about the person in the middle. We'll see some conflict between Bernie and Billy."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
