Coronation Street's Peter Barlow to grow suspicious over Stephen Reid

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Peter Barlow is set to grow suspicious of serial killer Stephen Reid next week.

In April, Rufus Donahue became the third victim of Stephen Reid and tonight's episode (Friday, August 11) will see the killer attend his memorial service.

During the episode, Rufus' widow Lou shows Stephen her husband's belongings which were found at the swimming pool where Stephen drowned him. As she does, Stephen notices his own tie-pin and gets worried when Lou reveals that she plans to show it to the police.

Lou also reveals that Rufus' watch is missing, which later causes Peter to confess to Carla that he found it in his cab and pawned it to pay for her rehab when she thought her psychosis was back.

With Lou planning to go to the police, Peter might be at risking of finding himself accused of murder.

Next week Lou will arrive for a meeting at Underworld where she tells Carla that the police have agreed to look into Rufus' missing watch.

Carla is understandably concerned, knowing that Peter was the one who stole the watch. Later Stephen overhears Peter on a call to the pawnbroker, hoping to make amends by getting the watch back.

This leads Peter to confessing to Stephen that he pawned the watch but it has been sold.

But later in the week, Peter changes his mind about Stephen and tells Carla to keep an eye on him as he can't be trusted.

But what has sparked Peter's sudden change of heart? Does Stephen need to watch his back?

Meanwhile, photos from the Corrie set this week have shown that Stephen will go after Tim Metcalfe next.

The still see Stephen, played by Todd Boyce, trying to strangle 'Tim' (actually actor Joe Duttine's stunt double) with a tie whilst he drives his car.

Tim has become increasingly suspicious of Stephen in recent weeks, after finding out that he forged life insurance documents in his mum Elaine's name.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
