Coronation Street's Ronnie Bailey manipulates Ed after Aggie revelation

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Ronnie Bailey is set to manipulate Ed after learning something troubling about Aggie on Coronation Street.

In new scenes set to air on the ITV soap, the brothers decide to go into business together more officially after recently working together on a property project.

Ronnie decides to show Ed a property that would be ideal for their plans, though Ed suggests that it's a large job that wouldn't show any returns for a number of years. This leads Ronnie to criticise his lack of ambition.

A few days afterwards, Michael is punched by drug dealer Dean Turnball while trying to help Cassie Plummer. Ronnie suggests they call the police over the incident, though Cassie asks them not to involve law enforcement.

Michael admits to Ronnie that this sort of thing happens all the time when Aggie is on shift as a nurse at the hospital, leaving his uncle shocked.

Ronnie decides to use this information to push Ed to go into the deal so that Aggie can retire safely – but will Ed agree?

The scenes come amid villain Dean's return to the show, as Cassie is keen to get her life on track after sharing the truth about her identity with Tyrone. However, she meets up with drug dealer Dean, who is angry with her over her owing him money, which leads to the fight that Michael gets involved with.

Speaking recently about her return scenes as Cassie, actress Claire Sweeney explained: "[Cassie] is determined to do her best to try and stay clean, but at the end of the day she's an addict. Addicts fall off the wagon sometimes.

"She would do everything she can within her power but it's an illness. She can't always control it and it isn't going to be easy for any of them."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
