Coronation Street's Stephen Reid to make shock discovery over Tim Metcalfe

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Stephen Reid is set to make a shocking discovery about Tim Metcalfe that will put the latter in big danger.

Recent scenes on the soap saw the serial killer take a trip down to the canal to check on the body of Teddy – which came after it was discovered that Teddy's son Leo had been murdered.

While Stephen was behind both deaths, he's yet to be caught out – though Tim followed him to the canal and was nearly caught when his phone went off. As such, Stephen realised that someone was following him.

Recent filming pictures teased violent scenes to come for the pair, as Stephen is seen trying to strangle Tim while he drives his car.

The pair have a fraught history, as Tim recently discovered that Stephen forged life insurance documents in his mother Elaine's name, leading to a violent brawl that resulted in a head injury for Stephen.

Star Todd Boyce previously opened up about playing Stephen, joking that an on-set superstition could lead to his character's demise.

"I share a dressing room with Dan Brocklebank [who plays Billy Mayhew], who is just so much fun and so wonderful," he told Inside Soap. "[He] tells me that everyone who's sat in my chair, their character has died.

"So it's a bit of a haunted chair. Dan has been in the show for 10 years, so that's a bit scary!"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
