Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs attacked in shock Evelyn storyline

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Tyrone Dobbs has been attacked in Coronation Street's puppy farm storyline.

The soap confirmed last week it would air a hard-hitting plot where Evelyn tries to take down an illegal puppy farming business after spotting its owner, Terry, mistreating his dog.

Evelyn initially took action by swiping Terry's puppy to bring it home, where Ruby and Hope renamed it 'Taylor' in honour of Taylor Swift.

Terry suspected Evelyn must have kidnapped his dog, though she feigned ignorance as he angrily confronted her in the precinct.

Evelyn had to take quick action when she spotted Cassie taking Taylor on a walk nearby, forcing her to rush the two back inside before they were spotted.

Terry tried to take his revenge by entering the shop and locking the door behind him. As Evelyn was menacingly confronted, Dev Alahan realised something was wrong as he checked the locked door.

Dev enlisted Gary Windass to help him break down the door. The two men rushed in to find a clearly shaken Evelyn following a threatening encounter with Terry.

Meanwhile, Tyrone spotted the villain coming out of the ginnel and tried to stop him. Terry stunned Tyrone by punching him in the stomach and then taking off.

Later, Craig Tinker turned up at No.9 to question Tyrone about the assault, though Tyrone pretended it was an unprovoked assault by some random person he didn't recognise.

Once Craig left, Cassie promised she'd make sure Terry got his comeuppance. Tyrone tried to convince his family to drop their vendetta against Terry.

"You don't grass on somebody like him, not unless you want your windows going through," Tyrone warned.

Evelyn was left concerned by Tyrone refusing to tell police the truth...

Producer Iain MacLeod and his team are working with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to spotlight an important issue while ensuring the wellbeing of dogs used on set.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
