Corrie to bring back Henry Newton as George Banks reprises role

Coronation Street will soon see a return for wealthy Henry Newton, as Gemma Winter-Brown crosses paths with her ex-boyfriend once again.
TV Times reports that actor George Banks is reprising his role as Henry for another guest stint on the cobbles, following Gemma and her husband Chesney's recent money struggles.
Gemma will soon be starting a new job, in which she just happens to be working for old flame Henry.

But how will Chesney feel about his wife's new venture? And could Gemma still be harbouring any feelings for her well-off ex?
Brewery heir Henry first arrived on the cobbles in 2017, when he dated Gemma as part of a cruel bet with his friend.
He returned in 2018 to reunite with Gemma and attempted to buy The Rovers Return, although he and Gemma were beaten to it by Jenny and Johnny Connor. Henry then caused trouble by threatening to sue Jenny and Johnny over a fake broken arm in order to fix his financial problems.
He was later seen being kidnapped by some rather unlikely gangsters and has not been seen since - so his planned return means that viewers can rest easy that Henry didn't meet a sticky end at their hands.

Gemma's new job comes after she ends up in a dangerous situation this week, as she attempts to take care of a house full of children after agreeing to look after Bertie and Glory under her unofficial childminding service.
But when exhausted Gemma falls asleep, little Bertie empties her bag and gets hold of her bottle of antidepressants, leaving Gemma horrified when she realises that the toddler has eaten some.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
