Corrie confirms Sam and Hope outcome after their row over Eliza

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street will air another development for young characters Sam Blakeman and Hope Stape next week, following their row over Eliza Woodrow.

The schoolchildren became each other's first boyfriend and girlfriend earlier this year, but their bond was damaged after Hope became jealous over newcomer Eliza's friendship with Sam, leading to Hope causing a fire at Eliza's birthday party.

With the pair having broken up as a result, there has since been some distance between them – but things are about to change.

In scenes airing next week, Sam encourages his dad Nick Tilsley and Nick's partner Leanne Battersby to throw a Halloween party at the Bistro.

Sam tries to overcome any reservations they might have by insisting that it's what his mum, Natasha Blakeman, would have wanted, after she was killed in a case of mistaken identity while wearing a Halloween costume in 2021.

He adds that he would like to invite Hope to the party, and Nick and Leanne agree to host.

Sam then heads out to the café for a milkshake with Hope, where he invites her to the Bistro Halloween party and suggests that they start again, after everything that's happened this year.

When Hope agrees, Sam is delighted. Does this mark a new start for the young couple?

Actor Jude Riordan, who plays Sam, told Digital Spy earlier this year that the soap would be revisiting his character's relationship with Hope, teasing that they would "start getting closer together again".

Corrie's executive producer Iain MacLeod also revealed the soap's plans for Sam and Hope at the beginning of the year, saying that he is hoping for them to become an iconic duo over the years.

Calling them "our benchmark 'PJ and Duncan' (from Byker Grove)", he said, "What if we can take these kids that are, like, 10 and grow them for a decade into this incredibly rich friendship? That's what we're hoping to do."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
