Corrie star Rob Mallard warns of possible Daniel and Ryan revenge plot

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street star Rob Mallard has warned of a possible Daniel and Ryan revenge plot, ahead of Daniel demanding answers from Daisy next week.

In upcoming scenes, Daniel Osbourne begins to question his fiancée Daisy Midgeley after she lies to him whilst secretly meeting her lover Ryan Connor. Daniel subsequently follows Ryan to the Chariot Square Hotel, where he demands to know the truth.

"His suspicions are already raised that there's something going on that he's not quite twigged and then Daisy suddenly out of nowhere says she's going off to meet her mum and he sees Ryan also going to a hotel," explained Mallard, who plays Daniel in the soap.

"It just leans into his paranoia and he thinks, yes I'm right, there is something going on and I'm going to catch them in the act."

Discussing how Daniel will react to finding out about the affair, Mallard warned that Ryan should be worried: "He's pushed an 80-year-old man down the stairs and he's pushed a teenager down the stairs so he doesn't discriminate, if you fall between the ages of 15 and death you could be going down the stairs!

"I think it's definitely in Daniel, we saw it with Justin. The thing with Daniel is he doesn't take aggressive action immediately but then when situations back him into a corner he just snaps. It's usually a last resort, but if Ryan is going after Daisy 100% then he'll have to be an equal and opposite to beat him."

After a couple of months on the storyline back-burner, Daniel has returned to the fore through Daisy's continuing affair.

In scenes set to air next week, Daniel confides in his father Ken over his suspicions of Daisy and Ryan. Determined to find proof, Ken warns his son to tread carefully.

Mallard also revealed how much he enjoys playing such a "morally ambiguous" character, saying: "So people who tread on both sides of the sea, you're not playing a baddie but he makes bad decisions, where when you have these private moments you see him conflicted about it, he has to live with his decisions and his actions have consequences.

"It's nice to be nice, but it's also good to be bad."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
