Corrie star Stephanie Davis sparks new Rovers Return fan theory

Former Hollyoaks star turned recent Coronation Street signing Stephanie Davis has sparked a new Rovers Return fan theory with her latest Instagram post in which she shared two photos of herself behind the bar of the iconic pub.

This has led to speculation that Davis' Corrie character Courtney Vance could get a job working behind the bar, with her former Hollyoaks co-star Ross Adams commenting: "This is giving: 'Yes, cock. What can I get yer?' vibes. And I'm here for it."

Plenty of other fans agreed that she'd make a great barmaid character, but those who have been keeping up with the soap's most recent episode — which aired the day before Davis posted this photo — will know that the Rovers is getting some new owners.

Jenny has been struggling financially in recent months, and it looked like the pub was going to be sold to property developers, until Henry Newton struck a last-minute deal to get his brewery to buy the pub (on the condition his former love interest Gemma Winter-Brown worked with him, something Chesney won't be happy about...).

It's been stated in the show that the Rovers is still losing a lot of money, and with all of the stress Jenny has been under, is this leading to the Rovers getting a new landlady, with Davis' post teasing that it's going to be Courtney?

Or is this just Davis posting a photo in the soap's most famous location because... well, why wouldn't you?

Meanwhile, Jenny actress Sally Ann Matthews has herself suggested new ownership could bring in Shona Platt (played by Julia Goulding) as a new barmaid so fans may see more than one change behind the bar.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
