Corrie's Stu Carpenter to make devastating Christmas confession

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Stu Carpenter will make a shock confession over Christmas, which puts his future with his family in serious jeopardy.

Ever since Stu's granddaughter Eliza Woodrow decided to move in with her dad, Dom Everett, Stu has been at loggerheads with Dom, and his campaign against him will continue to ramp up ahead of Christmas.

After he discovers from private investigator Lesley that Dom has a secret estranged family in Germany, Stu confronts Dom and offers him £10k in cash to stay out of Eliza's life - prompting Dom to drop off Eliza and all of her possessions at Stu's.

In scenes that will air on Wednesday, December 27 and Friday, December 29 at 8pm on ITV1, Stu will feel the consequences of his actions as his deceit comes back to haunt him.

Following Dom's failure to show up to see Eliza for Christmas, Eliza is devastated. In the café, she puts in her earpods and refuses to engage.

Yasmeen Metcalfe and Alya Nazir are worried for Eliza, knowing how upset she was by Dom's absence, and Stu feels wretched about what he's done.

Stu later calls Dom and leaves him a message, telling him that Eliza is very upset and he fears that he's made a big mistake in bribing Dom to stay away.

Later in the week, Stu finally admits to Yasmeen that it's all his fault that Dom did a disappearing act because he paid him £10,000 to stay away from Eliza, thinking that it was in her best interests, and now Dom won't come back.

Yasmeen is horrified to learn what Stu has done, leaving Stu feeling even worse.

Yasmeen confides in friend Roy Cropper about Stu's duplicitous behaviour, explaining that she feels she has yet again fallen for a man who does nothing but lie to her.

Has Stu burned his bridges with his family for good this time?

Corrie producer Iain MacLeod has told Digital Spy and other media that this storyline will be "incredibly poignant", with Stu set to make "some incredibly bad decisions".

"Stu will seriously endanger his relationship with Yasmeen," he said. "After Geoff and Sharif, Yasmeen has profound trust issues when it comes to men – and Stu's behaviour around this story will give her, at the very least, serious pause for thought."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
