“The Crow” Trailer: Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs Star in Haunting First Footage from Remake

'The Crow' is in theaters June 7

The first trailer for the The Crow has landed.

Bill Skarsgård stars as Eric, the vengeful man who is resurrected from the dead to bring justice to those who murdered him and his fiancée, Shelly (FKA Twigs).

The Crow remake comes 30 years after the 1994 film that starred the late Brandon Lee, who died in an accidental shooting on the movie's set at age 28 during production in 1993. Both the new movie and the 1994 movie starring Lee are based on James O’Barr’s 1989 graphic novel.

"Soulmates Eric Draven and Shelly Webster are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them," reads an official synopsis for The Crow.

"Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right."

Alongside Skarsgård, 33, and Twigs, 36, The Crow stars Danny Huston, Isabella Wei, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila and Jordan Bolger.

Rupert Sanders served as the director, and Zach Baylin and William Schneider served as the screenwriters. Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks, and the original film’s producers, the late Samuel Hadida and Ed Pressman, are all credited as producers.

The original 1994 movie was Lee’s eighth film. The actor, who was Bruce Lee's son, died after a costar fired a prop gun on set. In a criminal investigation, the district attorney involved in the case declined to bring charges against the production company behind the movie. That movie was completed after his death and released in May 1994.

Sanders told Vanity Fair in February that Lee’s “soul is very much alive in this film.”

"There’s a real fragility and beauty to his version of the Crow, and I think Bill feels like he is a successor to that,” said Sanders.

“Obviously, it was a terrible tragedy, and it’s definitely something that we’ve always had in mind through the making of the film,” shared Sanders. “Brandon was an original voice and I think he will always be synonymous with The Crow, and I hope he’s proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve brought the story back again."

The Crow is in theaters June 7.
