A man has been seriously injured after being pushed off his bicycle by someone leaning out of the window of a passing car.

The assault happened just after 20:00 BST on Tuesday at the Sulham Hill junction with Long Lane, in Sulham, near Reading.

The 29-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital with a fractured jaw, broken teeth, lacerations to his face and concussion. He has since been discharged, Thames Valley Police confirmed.

PC Jake Schulz said: “Unfortunately, due to the nature of the incident, the victim was not able to see the person who carried out the assault, or the car in which they were travelling."

He appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to contact the force.
