Dan Aykroyd Shares Thoughts on Dylan O'Brien Playing Him in “SNL 1975 ”Movie: 'Just Glad the Young Actor Got Work'

Dan Aykroyd is revealing his thoughts on Dylan O’Brien portraying him in the SNL 1975 movie.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire premiere in New York City on Thursday, the comedian and actor opened up about O'Brien’s upcoming portrayal of him in the film.
“We’ll see, You know what, I’m just glad the young actor got work,” Aykroyd joked. “If he’s compelled to play me, well, I’m glad he got work.”
Aykroyd, who stars in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire as his original 1984 Ghostbusters character, Ray Stantz, appeared on Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1979. He also worked as a writer for the late-night comedy show.

Aykroyd starred in many sketches during his time on Saturday Night Live. The sketches included the Blues Brothers and Coneheads. He also bagged five Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Meanwhile, the star’s Ghostbusters: Frozen City’s costar Finn Wolfhard, 21, who plays Trevor in Ghostbusters: Frozen City, is also set to star in the upcoming SNL 1975 movie.
Wolfhard spoke to PEOPLE at the Ghostbusters: Frozen City premiere on Thursday about how Aykroyd helped him in his preparation for the new film.

"He told me stories just about how none of them were famous yet, and there was a time where they were all normal people that were in the world and trying to make a living as being comedians and just hearing about just how Dan lived as a guy before SNL and his daily life," Wolfhard told PEOPLE on Thursday, adding that "it was really incredible and very insightful."
The actor is set to play the role of an NBC page who tries to convince people to watch the first live taping of the network’s new show.
