Dan Rather Torches Donald Trump With Blistering ‘Gobbledegook’ Comparison

Veteran broadcast journalist Dan Rather pointed out the “dangerous
double standard,” he said is being applied to President Joe Biden and
former President Donald Trump following Biden’s disastrous debate
performance that heightened calls for him to quit his 2024 campaign.

If Biden remains in the race, then “every step, every word, every gesture will be parsed, dissected, and magnified,” Rather wrote in the latest issue of his “Steady” email newsletter.

“This is the reality, at least for the Democrats,” he added. “Trump? Not so much. Or really, very little.”

Rather, he contrasted the scrutiny that was applied to Biden’s apparent use of the word “goodest” during his recent sit-down interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos to the relative silence and/or indifference over Trump’s “gobbledegook” at a rally in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

“Why are the rules so different for these two men?” Rather asked. “Both should be held accountable for their deeds and words. But they aren’t. Trump gets pass after pass.”
