Dancing on Ice spoilers follow.

Dancing on Ice has eliminated its first pairing of the 2024 series, after the second group of six celebrities and their professional partners took to the rink for the first time.

Following last week's premiere, which ended with boxer Ricky Hatton scoring the lowest out of the first six celebs, tonight's (January 21) episode saw Ricky and his professional skating partner Robin Johnstone face off against tonight's lowest-scoring pair, comedian Lou Sanders and her pro partner Brendyn Hatfield.

The skate-off, which is comprised of a new routine from each pair, resulted in judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse choosing to save a pair each.

Banjo, Mabuse and Dean all decided to save Lou and Brendyn – as did Torvill, who had the head judging responsibilities this week – meaning Ricky and Robin were the first pairing to skate off the ice for good.

Following the announcement of his exit, Ricky told the judges: "I'm gutted to be going home, yeah, because I've tried to be a winner in all my life in everything I've done.

"It's been a while since I saw the second round!" the former champion boxer joked.

"I think I will carry on skating," he continued. "I may be out in the first round, but I've had a great time, met some wonderful friends."

Ricky also thanked Robin and the show's coaches for all their hard work and support during his time on the show.

"Even though I'm going home in the first round, The Hitman will be going home happy!" he added.

As part of the second group of six celebs skating this week, Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney took to the ice with partner Colin Grafton for a gladiator-inspired routine, as well as Made in Chelsea's Miles Nazaire and Vanessa Bauer.

BBC Radio 1 presenter Adele Roberts and Mark Hanretty also performed their first routine, as did EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood and pro skater Annette Dytryt – followed by Lou and Brendyn with a routine set to Madonna's track 'Hung Up'.

Iconic Olympic ski jumper Eddie the Eagle took to the rink with his professional partner Vicky Ogden to finish off the first round of skates for the celebs. Adele and Eddie received the joint-highest scores of the series so far.

Dancing on Ice airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
